Arrive Delhi, after clearing the Immigrations /Customs formalities, met/transferred by our representative & transfer to the Hotel.
Morning, we proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Old Delhi visiting the Jama Masjid, drive past the Red Fort built by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, Drive through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk & lastly visit Raj Ghat, the memorial built for Mahatma Gandhi. Afternoon, tour of new Delhi visiting the Qutab Minar Humanyun's tomb & lastly drive through Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate & other important government buildings. An optional visit to the Magnificent Akshardham temple An English speaking guide will be accompanying you for the entire sightseeing tour.
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Agra (205 kms/4 hrs approx). Arrive Agra & transfer to the Hotel. Later visit the Taj Mahal and other important monuments in Agra. Day free for leisure activities.
After breakfast, drive to Jaipur (4hrs drive). En route visit Fathepur Sikri. On arrival at Jaipur, check into your hotel. Rest of the day free for independent activities.
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning, half day excursion to Amber the old capital of Jaipur rulers. Ride on back of an elephant from the foot of the hill up to the gates of the fortress. Afternoon, half day sightseeing tour of Jaipur visiting the Maharaja's Museum and Jai Singh Astronomical Observatory and Hawa Mahal.
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast transfer to airport to board flight to Chennai. Arrive Chennai & drive to Mahabalipuram (75 Kms/ 2 Hrs approximately) Arrive Mahabalipuram & transfer to the Hotel.
Morning after breakfast proceeds for sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram city. Visit Temples of Mahabalipuram & Also visit Arunas Penance, a huge rock carvings, and Rathas or "Chariots Temple".
Breakfast at the Hotel. Leave for Pondicherry by surface (110 Kms/ 2 Hrs approximately) Arrive Pondicherry & transfer to the Hotel. Afternoon proceed for half day sightseeing tour visiting the Aurobindo Ashram etc.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we drive to Kumbakonam. Arrive Kumbakonam Transfer to Hotel. Later visit for temples tour of City.
After breakfast Drive to Tanjore - this is visited by most of the foreigners who come to India to learn about its culture. Raja Chola during his rule built the Tanjore Brihadeeswarwa temple. Otherwise called 'Big Temple' (Periya Kovil) the temple was built by the King on a sprawling piece of land. The greatness of this temple is marked by the enormous Lingam - the 'Brihadeeswarwa' which is the prime deity of the shrine. Overnight stay at Kumbakonam Hotel.
Breakfast at the Hotel. Later Drive to Madurai. Enroute visit Trichy. Sightseeing tour of Trichy. Visit Trichy's ROCK FORT TEMPLE
A spectacular monument perched on a massive sand-colored rock to a height of more than 80m, its irregular sides smoothed by wind and rain. This temple was built by Pallavas as a small cave temple, but the Nayak's grasped the site's potential as a fort. The RANGANATHASWAMY TEMPLE - at Srirangam is among the most revered shrines to Vishnu in south India and the largest and liveliest temple complex in India. Enclosed by seven rectangular walled courtyards, the temple has 21 gopurams; it stands on an island defined by a tributary of the River Cauvery.
Further drive to Madurai. Arrive Madurai and transfer to hotel. Evening visit the Sri Meenakshi Temple, a fine example of architecture Dravidian.
Breakfast at the Hotel. Leave for Periyar by surface (142 Kms/ 3 Hrs approximately) Arrival and check in to the hotel. Rest of the day will be free for enjoying the natural wonders of Thekkady. Later enjoy the boat ride at the Lake Periyar where one can have a unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. The greatest attraction of Periyar, however are the herds of wild elephants that come down to play in the lake. (Subject to sighting).
Morning after breakfast visit Periyar sanctuary which is the main attraction of Thekkady and one of the best sanctuaries in India for watching and photographing elephants at close quarters.
After breakfast drive to Kumarakom. Arrive Kumarakom and transfer to hotel. In the morning, after breakfast drive to Kumarakom (130kms/4hrs)). Kumarakom is Kerala's heartland of lagoons; palm fringed lakes, and paddy fields, inter-linked with hundreds of winding canals. On arrival check in at your hotel.
Today morning transfer you to Alleppey to board the Houseboat, for the unique backwater cruise experience. Whilst you cruise along you will see several village along the bank of the backwaters. Have a peep into the rural life especially the Fisher folk! See rice being threshed, goods being traded. Overnight in Houseboat. (A/C will be 2100-0700hrs only)
Breakfast at the Houseboat. Leave for Cochin by surface (65 Kms/ 1 Â½ Hrs approximately) Arrive Cochin & transfer to the Hotel. Afternoon, start a half-day excursion to Cochin visiting the Church of San Francisco which is the oldest European church in India, The City and the Jewish Synagogue. At the final visit Chinese nets on the banks of the river, Chinese major networks are poised overhangs.
Evening, enjoy Kathakali dance performance.
Morning after breakfast, transfer to Cochin airport for your flight Back to your hometown.
